General Info
The courses will be offered in the daytime, with the possibility of offering them in the evening and on Saturdays. The format of the courses is face-to-face; however, there is flexibility for remote actions in terms of content, guidance, meetings, lectures, classes and other actions for the courses and the course. The courses are offered every semester, with compulsory, optional and general courses alternating and complementing each other.
A minimum of 24 (twenty-four) credits obtained in subjects will be required to complete the Master’s Degree:
- At least 8 (eight) credits in compulsory subjects;
- At least 8 (eight) credits in elective subjects;
- The remaining 8 (eight) credits can be chosen together with the advisor, who can choose two elective courses, two compulsory courses or one of each.
A combination of activities is required to complete the master’s degree. These include the completion of courses, the defense of the qualification, proficiency in English, the approval of a scientific article and the defense of the master’s degree.
The Master’s Degree in Computer Science will last a minimum of 12 (twelve) months and a maximum of 24 (twenty-four) months, starting from initial enrollment, and the candidate must complete the total credits required and also defend the Dissertation by the end of this period in order to obtain the Master’s degree. However, in exceptional cases, duly justified, the established deadlines may be extended up to a maximum of 6 (six) months, at the discretion of the PPCOMP Board.
